National Chocolate Chip day

Jake and Hayden were very happy when they found out what day we would be celebrating! :)  In the morning, we read a book about chocolate, did a few counting and coloring chip activities, then we graphed some different types of Chocolate Chips... Hayden was so excited to learn that there are white chocolate chips, mint chocolate chips, as well as mini-chocolate chips.

Of course we had to do some baking too, so for breakfast we made chocolate chip pancakes... we tried out all the different types of chips... Hayden and Daddy seemed to like the regular chocolate chip pancakes, I, on the other hand preferred the white chocolate chip pancakes!  Later that day we also made some yummy banana chocolate chip cookies... unfortunately though, they didn't last

long in this house! :)

Garage Sale Jackpot

Hayden and I set out for some "garage-sale"ing this morning!  We were so happy with our treasures that we found... all for only 25 bucks! :)  Hayden was content all afternoon and morning playing with his new toys!

Not only did we find a geotracks train that Hayden has been wanting FOREVER, we also found a cool dinosaur construction set, various building blocks toys, and some fun books!

When it Feels like summer... we want Ice Cream!

Since it was hot the past few days, we broke out our Ice Cream Cone holder, and made a trip to McD's for an Ice Cream Cone!!  I think he liked it!

The Ants Come Marching In!!

Our ants arrived in the mail today, so we were able to load them into our Ant Hill.  Hayden spent at least an hour this morning, just sitting there watching and asking TONS of questions! :)

Charolette's Web

We had a mid-week family day at the theater!  We took Hayden to Drury Lane to see Charolette's Web... the best thing about going mid week is getting awesome third row seats!!  It was a super cute play, and Hayden seemed to really enjoy himself!

Fire Truck Kind of Day

Hayden's preschool took a field trip to the Fire Station, and I was lucky enough to be able to go with him!! The firemen did a great job showing us around the firehouse, showing us our uniform, giving fire safety tips, and of course, Hayden's favorite part... seeing all the firetrucks!!  They opened them all up and let all the kiddos climb around inside!!

When we came home from the field trip, we had a yummy Firetruck lunch.  Fire Captain Hayden had some fun playing with his firetrucks, as well as his fire hose (garden hose) outside on this warm summer-like day.  After dinner, we also practiced some of the fire safety tips we learned today, such as Stop, Drop, and Roll, checking out the smoke detectors in our house, and practicing 911 with a fake phone.

Mother's Day

How lucky am I?  I had such a nice Mother's Day thanks to Hayden and Jake.  We went to a super yummy brunch at Luigi's House.  Then we spent the afternoon outside enjoying the beautiful weather playing tennis!  Hayden loved being the "ball boy".  I am so lucky to be Hayden's mommy!!

The best thing my mommy does is... helps me with stuff, like with my sticker book (which is what we just did right before the interview... lol)

The best thing she cooks is... orange french fries and smoothies.

When my mommy shops, she likes to buy... frozen yogurt for my smoothies.

My mommy's favorite household chore is... well, you like to clean up with a vacuum.

My mommy laughs when... you laugh when I tell you knock knock jokes.

My favorite thing about mommy is ... when you give me lots and lots of hugs & kisses.

I love mommy because... you do good things for me!

Mother's Day Pictures

Happy Cinco de Mayo

We celebrated Cinco de Mayo tonight by having a yummy mexican feast along with some Non-fried Ice Cream.  My favorite part had to be the mustaches! :)

Beautiful Spring Day

Even though it was a little chilly for spring,  Hayden enjoyed being outside playing in the mulch with his trucks. :)

Happy May Day!

Today we celebrated May Day by making candy flowers and stuffing May Day baskets.  After we finished them, Hayden headed to his cousins' house to deliver the May Day surprises.  Although, Hayden was excited to ring their doorbell and run & hide, he was a little shy after they opened their door.  He didn't want to jump out and say Happy May Day... maybe next year! 

However, he was all about May Day, when I delivered his basket full of outdoor spring toys at our door. :)
