Scarecrow Fest & Date Night

Jake and I had a bi-annual ;) date night!! :)  I was so happy that Jake arranged for my brother to watch Hayden so we could enjoy a nice fall day together!  We went to a Scarecrow fest, and enjoyed a nice drive looking at all the beautiful fall colors!

Fall "bonfire" & s'mores

One of the activities that Hayden wanted to add to our Fall Family Fun list was to have a Fall bonfire... so he settled for a fire in the firepit. :)  We enjoyed yummy smores and flashlight fun!

Hobo Picnic & Fall Scavenger Hunt

Today was a beautiful fall day to go on a Hobo Picnic and Autumn Scavenger Hunt!  Hayden loves finding the different colored leaves, and of course running through them.  He also has a new fondness for climbing tree!

Starved Rock Nature Hike

Today, we had fun at Starved Rock... although it probably wasn't the best thing to do the day after Jake ran a marathon, but he was such a trooper!! :)  We had fun playing in the leaves, hiking through the woods/creeks, and Hayden's highlight was finding a snake!!

Fall Fun List and Pumpkin Poptarts

The nice part about having preschool in the afternoon, is that we can lounge around in our pj's a little longer, work on some fun activities like mazes(his new favorite thing to do), and eat some yummy breakfasts.   This morning, we put the finishing touches on our Fall Family Fun List while enjoying our yummy pumpkin pie poptarts... super yummy!

First Day of Fall with Cousin Chandler

Today, we celebrated the first day of Fall. The weather was beautiful, so after our Fall breakfast, we took cousin Chandler on a park hop... and spent most of our time at the Firetruck Park and Train Park.  After naptime, we played in the sandtable, the prop box, Limbo, construction trucks, & horses!  Then we decided to start a new tradition and make a Thanksgiving-like dinner to celebrate the beginning of Autumn.  Hayden enjoyed drinking out of an apple, while Chandler enjoyed the cresent rolls. :)

Afternoon with Cousin Roary

Roary came over this afternoon while Sheryl was at Randy's kindergarten Halloween party.  Since it was a nice fall day, we went outside for an Autumn Scavenger hunt!  The boys did a great job and seemed to enjoy themselves!

 After the scavenger hunt, we made a yummy, fall snack!  The above picture shows two guilty faces after I asked who was licking the chocolate... hmmm... I wonder which one was? :)

 Randy was able to come over and play for a little while after his party!  He looks so stinkin' cute in his new glasses!

Leaf Rubbings

 Today, we quickly went outside and "tried" to catch some leaves... pretty difficult since it was so windy :).  Once we were able to collect a few, we came inside to make some leaf rubbing decorations!  I remember doing this in 2nd grade, and am glad to see Hayden shared the same excitement! :)

Fall Leaves

 Hayden seems to really enjoy the autumn season!  He loves looking at the trees each morning to see what color the leaves are and how many leaves have fallen off!  Today we spent some time outside collecting different colored leaves to make a few art projects! :)
