Bubble Painting & Popping

Who would have thought that there would be a Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day?! Well there is, and today was that day.  Hayden loves bubble wrap, and was very happy when he saw me bring it out. We did some bubble wrap painting and bubble wrap dancing... I had some different types of bubble wrap that was hard to pop, but still fun to play around with.

Hopscotch

Hayden started the morning hopping around everywhere, so I thought he would really like to play a game of  Hopscotch.  Although, it would be so much better outside, we made it work indoors. Even Fumble came out to take a look. However, it wasn't long before trucks & trains became part of the
game. :)

National Puzzle Day

We celebrated National Puzzle Day today!!  Jake made some yummy brownies, while Hayden worked on different puzzles... Cheez-it Word puzzle, I-Spy, trains, and a make-your-own! 

Winter Blues...

We were sick of looking at all the snowmen and snowflake decorations, so we decided to pack them up, and breakout the hearts and cupids.  Hayden loved putting up all the hearts, and kept asking what a cupid has to do with Valentine's day. :)  We also tried to make some heart-shaped Whoopie Pies to surprise Daddy after work.

Igloos and Popcorn Cake

Today, we did our last winter craft... igloos!  Hayden cut the ice square and Daddy helped him glue them down.  Then we made some VERY yummy Popcorn Cake... almost as yummy as Rice Krispies!

Shrinky Dink time...

Since Hayden's theme at preschool this week is Transportation, I thought it would be a great tie-in to break out the Vehicle Shrinky Dinks!   It was so cute to see how excited he was to watch them shrink in the oven!

Glow in the Dark Mini-Golf

Sunday morning, we decided to try out the in-door golf facility in Oswego.  It was Hayden's first time playing, and he did a great job!  He even had a hole-in-one on the 17th hole! 

Seussical

 

Recently, Hayden has found an interest in the Cat in the Hat, so we surprised him with a trip to the Paramount Arts Theater to see The Seussical.  Although, half way through, Hayden turned and looked at Jake to say, "This is plain weird."  he ended up liking it, especially when The Cat in the Hat was silly.  After the show, we stopped at Oberweis to split a Sunday and play a game of chess.

Little Architect

One of the gifts Hayden picked out with one of his xmas gift cards, were more K-nex.  He likes to "help" Daddy build mainly bulldozers or trucks, but today he set his sites higher... A Ferris Wheel! 

Catching Snowflakes

This morning was PERFECT snowflake catching weather!  The snowflakes were thick and the wind wasn't blowing too hard!  So we decided to try to catch some snowflakes. First, Hayden wanted to use his tongue. :)  Then, we used blue felt to catch ice crystals!  Hayden was very excited to see what they look like up close!!!

Of course, he wanted to wear his frog rain boots instead of snow boots... he said they would help him catch snowflakes better. ;)
