Construction Truck kind of a day

Hayden took a Construction Zone class at the Park District, so of course when he came home he wanted to have a Construction Zone lunch. :)  After naptime, aside from playing with his umpteen trucks, he also practiced his Construction lacing cards.  Although I think his favorite part of the day was when he I gave him a pair of construction truck socks I found at Target's Dollar Section! :)
Muffin Tin Lunch:  Dumptruck pb&J sandwich, gravel(trailmix), safety cones(carrots), dirt(pudding), Tonka Trucks cheez-its, and boulders (bananas)

National Polar Bear Day

What better way to spend National Polar Bear day, then to see the new bear exhibit at the zoo.  Hayden was able to see the polar bears swimming underwater, sitting on land, as well as get a Polar Bear Mold-a-Rama!!  We are definitely getting our money's worth this winter from our zoo membership!

Hayden is featured in Go West Young Moms :)

A few months ago, I came across an excellent resource for family activities on the web...
I had the wonderful opportunity to feature our Family Movie Nights on their website for the Oscar week articles!  I have provided a link if you would like to check it out! :)

Family Movie Night- Bolt

Hayden was excited to have a movie night with his cousin Chandler.  Since Chandler likes dogs, we thought Bolt would be a fun theme/movie.  After our Bolt dinner, we had a Super Bark Contest, played "fetch" with a stuffed dog bone, colored some Bolt characters, as well as built a "dog house" fort. :)  Hayden was a little bummed that Chandler had to go to bed, and didn't join him for the movie.  But after he started munching on the puppy chow, he was fine. :)
Hot Dogs, Dog Bone French Fries, Lightening Bolt Cheese, Green-eyed Man peas, Super Power Styrofoam (marshmallows), and yummy people Puppy Chow
Hayden definitely won the Super Bark Competition :)

More fun with Cousin Chandler

Today, we had more fun with Cousin Chandler!  This morning we went to the bookstore to climb around on the stairs, play with the trains, and enjoy some books.  After their afternoon naps, we had fun going on a Magnet Hunt, creating sticker pictures, and making yummy banana bread cookies! By the end of the night, they were both out like a light at 7:45!

Tons of fun with Cousin Chandler

Although the weather outside was gloomy, we found plenty of fun things to do indoors today!  Hayden wanted to take Chandler to Choo-Choo Johnny's to show him all the trains. :)  Afterwards, we stopped in at the Pet Store to see different animals.  Hayden really liked the frogs, while Chandler liked the turtles and fish. Before heading home, we also stopped at the party store and each of the boys chose a balloon, which put smiles on their faces all the way home.  After naps, we enjoyed play-doh, puzzles, and bathtime!!

Hoodie-Hoo Day

Today was Hoodie-Hoo Day!!  Today is the day, that you are suppose to go in your back yard, bang pots & pans, and yell Hoodie-Hoo to "scare" away winter. :)  Everyone, especially Jake, felt the Hoodie-Hoo!

Weekend Sleepover with Cousin Chandler

The sleepover with Cousin Chandler has finally arrived!!  Hayden has been looking forward to having him spend the night for a while now.  It will be interesting to see how Hayden reacts to not being an only child for the next few days.
We spent the day playing with TONS of toys, reading books, and spending a little time getting some fresh air.

I Want to be Like Mike

The next Michael Jordan maybe?  :)  Today, Hayden started his first day of basketball through the park district!  He really likes his coach... mainly because his coach was teaching them how to throw the basketball and say "Bye, Bye Pizza Pie", to the ball as they threw it. He found that pretty funny.
