A huge surprise that our little guy came a little over a month early! The night before, when I was getting ready for bed, I complained about my belly button hurting and noticed it finally popped out... must have been like a turkey thermometer telling me our little man was finished baking in my oven. After sleeping for a few hours, I woke up at 12:30 to go to the bathroom and realized as I was walking my water broke. Took me a few minutes to realize, but then woke up Jake. He was so calm (thankfully one of us was.)
After taking a shower to quickly shave my legs, lol, we packed a suitcase for Hayden and took him to my friend Brandi's house... SO thankful she picked up her phone at 1am. We finally arrived at the hospital around 1:30am, when I was admitted. Because I have been on blood thinners, I had to wait until 9:30 to receive an epidural. Thankfully, our little guy waited to arrive until after that!
Henry Jacob Rutherford was born at 4:47pm, weighing in at 6lbs. 8oz (which is pretty large for being almost 5 weeks early) and 20 inches in length.
