Did someone say Strawberry Picking?

April and May means strawberry season in North Carolina!  This was our first time going to a strawberry farm, and we had a lot of fun!  We learned that strawberries start out as flowers, then bloom to tiny yellow berries, before growing into ripe, red strawberries!  After picking 12 pounds(yikes) of strawberries, we enjoyed a few other neat activities; water pumps, bouncing through mazes, and a giant sandbox!  Never realized it took so long to clean, hull, and slice so many berries, but it was worth it.  Although after the strawberry jelly, bread, pies, cider, and shortcake, I think we are strawberried out until next spring! :)
