Snow Investigations

❄💙Today is PERFECT snowflake catching weather!! I can remember doing my teaching clinical work and I was observing Mrs. Vezain at East View. She saw it was snowing outside and said, "Drop your pencils, it's perfect snowflake catching weather!" It was so cool to see her take the kiddos outside with dark felt and observe the snowflakes! Their reactions were priceless!! Because of her, I have always kept felt in my classroom, just incase, for days like today! ❄

Rutherford's "Tricked Out" Magic Show

Henry has been using his magic kit, so we decided to all give it a try and have a Magic Show Night!  We each learned 3-4 magic tricks to perform.  Hayden and Henry were in charge of the signage, Jake was in charge of the music, and Mom was in charge of the snacks... Trix Rice Krispie Treats & Magical Hot Cocoa Bombs!  Ended up being a fun afternoon!

3rd Quarter E-learning... we got this!

January is always hard to get through... holidays are over, it gets dark early, sometimes to cold to get outside... trying to kick-off 3rd quarter with some winter-themed fun! Reading Iglood, Ice skating spelling, snowball math, book order of winter books, and a new class mascot named BERRRRT! :)

E-learning Christmas Party

Even though we are e-learning, we can still have a holiday party to kick-off Christmas Break!  Our awesome Park District offered a porch visit with the Grinch, so I surprised the boys with a Grinch Themed "party".  Let the holiday fun begin!

Geocaching in Pontiac!

One last summer adventure before school begins!  We headed on a geocaching day in Pontiac, Illinois.  Very cool city with so much history, tons of geocaches, and some interesting things to see!

Elearning-- Meet your Co-Teachers & School Supply "unpacking"

Back to School Week Begins! I have NO clue how this school year will look... taking it quarter by quarter. After stressing for a few weeks which option works best for us, we are starting with e-learning. Not how we want school to start, but going to make the best of it! Trying to get them pumped up and in school-mode so....today was "School Supply Drop-Off & Meet their Co-Teachers".
🤣😂I channeled my inner-teacher, and redid the playroom (made me feel a little more in control of this uncertain beginning of the year times).🍎🦊🍎
