Drive-In Movie

One of the adventures on our Sand Pail list was to go to the Drive-In.  This weekend, despite the non-summer like weather, we decided to head to the drive-in.  Since the closest drive-in is about 45 minutes away, we decided to play travel bingo, which helped the time fly-by!  Hayden did really well,
 and seemed to enjoy it!

After we arrived at the drive-in, Jake and Hayden played catch with the football. Then right before the movie began, we had to fill up on concessions... which made Hayden very happy because he LOVES popcorn!!  Unfortunately, after our drive-in experience I will no longer be able to eat popcorn again.  Somehow a June Bug landed in the popcorn undetected... it also ended up in my mouth undetected until I bit into it!!!!!  Although, that will scar me for life, I was so touched with how Hayden reacted.  He felt so bad for me, and kept saying, "Sorry that happened, Mommy.  I just want you to be ok."... made my heart melt.
After a late night, he was still smiling & being silly when we arrived home. :)

GOAL!!!

Hayden started his 2nd summer of soccer today!  Jake and I are so proud with how much he has grown since his last soccer session last June!  He definitely has come out of his shell and takes more risks which is so great to see!!

Yo-Yo Day

To celebrate Yo-Yo day, we started the morning with some yummy yo-yo shaped homemade poptarts.  Then we practiced using a yo-yo.  After a few minutes of trying the yo-yo, he found it more entertaining to just run around dragging it while Fumble chased him. :)

Hayden'isms

Hayden is definitely starting to become more aware of time... every time he asks me to help him with something, I usually say, "One second, Hayden."   He now says, "Mommy just say one minute, because it's more than one second."  WOW... I must say that often for him to realize the time lapse.

Hayden's new favorite thing is to make wishes with the dandelions or when he finds a penny. :)  I recently taught him to make a wish when he finds an eyelash on his cheek.   His wish was, "I want to catch a robin, so I can pet it.  Every time I go near them, they fly away!!"   LOL... I love the innocent curiosity he has!!!

"Mommy, did you know if you lick your arm it tastes like popcorn, and I like popcorn!"  :)

Great way to spend a HOT day!!

Rock, Paper, Scissors

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE having a patio!!!  We have spent so much time using it so far, especially for dinner!!  Tonight, while Jake was grilling our yummy dessert... Banana S'mores... Yummy!! Hayden learned how to play Rock, Paper, Scissors... at first we tried with a card game.  Once he seemed to have the hang of it, we taught him how to use his hands!  Very cute to see him try to make scissors... although he favors Rock, so it was a quick game. :)

Ah... Sweet Sunday!

That was my Dad's favorite saying, when he had a Sunday filled with activities that he liked!  Today, we had a great day.  The morning started with yummy frittata muffins... and some entertainment by Jake. :)
Next we headed to the Farmer's Market... who knew it would be so educational... Hayden LOVED it!! He really enjoyed picking out the different fruits/veggies. He was so excited when he was asked to smell some of them to check for freshness. :) His two favorite parts were finding Golden raspberries and watching the mini-donut machine.

We ended the day with our FIRST family bike ride!!  It didn't go too bad considering it was our first try!

                                                   null
So excited to get our Family Fun Magazine in the mail and find our Summer Park Passport idea featured on page 45!!  :)
Perfect timing to start our new Summer Park Passport today... Hayden wanted to go to the Train park, so off we went... we played at the park, ran on the hills, took a trip around the baseball field, watched a train, found some anthills, and then hot dog lunch in the park downtown. :)  Today was one of those days that makes me grateful to be staying home and not working!! :)

First Day of June = Fun Zoo Trip

What better way to spend the first day of June, than at the zoo enjoying the beautiful weather!  Since we have been to the zoo a few times already this year due to our zoo membership, I wanted to make sure we saw some different things, and make it a little more fun.  So I made a Zoo Scavenger Hunt that worked REALLY well!  We had so much fun being on the lookout for the different
animals and things at the zoo.
We also tried a few new exhibits that we haven't visited yet like Stingray Bay... which was really fun touching the slimy rays and feeding them smelt.  My favorite were the Butterfly Gardens... I have never been in there, and it was SO neat!  We stayed in there a while watching them fly around and a few even landed on us, which made it extra "cool" according to Hayden! :)
Hayden's new favorite animals are wolves, ever since he has watched Alpha & Omega, so of course we had to stop and visit the wolves den, and Hayden even received his first (and only) tattoo! :)
We finished our Scavenger Hunt!!
