St. Patrick's Day Parade

Today, we wanted to get out for some fresh air, so we headed to the St. Patrick's Day Parade.  Hayden really liked seeing the firetrucks, especially seeing the lights & hearing the sirens.  My favorite part were the bag pipes!  Although it was a little chilly, it was nice to be outside in the sun!  We can't wait for Spring to arrive!

Wax Shamrocks

Today, we did a fun Shamrock craft!  We went through our gigantic crayon box and pulled out the different shades of green.  Then we used a pencil sharpener to make wax shavings on a piece of wax paper.  Once we had enough, we ironed over them which melted the shavings and wa-lah!... wax Shamrocks!  Hayden loved using the pencil sharpener and seeing how the shavings melted into cool designs!!  I think we will be doing this craft again for Easter.

Lucky Leprechaun Magical Powder

The tricky leprechaun paid us a visit last night!  Although we didn't catch him, he left us a fun treat!  After mixing the leprechaun powder with some milk, we had some yummy pistachio pudding!  Wow... it was magical!! :)

Instead of Fat Tuesday... celebrating Chubby Wednesday

Since we were busy last night on Fat Tuesday, we decided to celebrate Mardi Gras on Chubby Wednesday! :)  A few weeks ago, when we babysat Cousin Chandler, Nikki & Corey went to New Orleans.  She brought us back sooo many goodies to have a fun Mardi Gras Night! We made a homemade King Cake, Gumbo, Shrimp Jambolaya, and Mardi Gras Dip!

All the Cool things from Aunt Nikki & Uncle Corey

After our yummy dinner, we had some Mardi Gras fun playing Dance Party! :)

Living on a Prayer

Hayden spent some time with Aunt Nikki, Uncle Corey, and Cousin Chandler tonight, while Mommy & Daddy went out for a yummy dinner in Chicago at Rosebuds, and then saw an AWESOME Bon Jovi Concert!  Although, Hayden said he also had an awesome time at the Simons' house decorating cookies, having a sword fight with uncle Corey, going out for pizza and ice cream, as well as a trip to the toy store!  When I figure out how to upload pictures from my phone that Nikki texted me, I will post them.  For now, I just have some pics. from the concert! :)

 Yummy, the best dessert ever!

When do I get to meet my new cousins?

Hayden was so excited to meet his two new cousins, Reagan & Reece.  It was pretty funny because all day Hayden was asking when he was going to meet them, then when he finally met them, he was super shy.  I think he was expecting them to be older.
I forgot even Jake was meeting them for the first time!
After visiting with Reagan & Reece, we had a fun time eating pizza and playing Just Dance.

Leprechaun Trap

Today, we decided to get in the St. Patrick's Day mood and make our new Leprechaun trap.  After reading a few St. Patrick's Day books and learning that Leprechauns are tricky, we began construction. While we were making our trap, I asked Hayden what he would do with the gold if we caught the leprechaun, and he said he would buy another cat... um... we definitely won't be catching a one now ;).

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

In honor of Dr. Seuss & his B-day, we had a Dr. Seuss day today!  We started the morning with a Green Eggs & Ham(bacon) and Horton Hears a Who Clover smoothie with a speck (marshmallow) for breakfast.  We also played some word games and read some Dr. Seuss books.  For lunch, we enjoyed a Cat in the Hat sandwich, Red Fish, Blue Fish goldfish, and some Fox on Sox blue goo & Pink Ink lemonade.  After Hayden's nap we made some oobleck from Bartholemew and the Oobleck, which was very fun & messy!  We ended our theme-day with some Cat in the Hat jello and Hop on Pop hopping maze!
Hopefully that just made sense! :)

National Pig, Pancake, and Peanut Butter Day

Today was a popular day when it comes to silly holidays!   For dinner, we enjoyed Pig Pancakes, Bacon (turkey bacon... didn't seem right to eat pork on Pig day) and Peanut Butter Smoothies.  We actually made homemade peanut butter today which was surprisingly easy!  Then topped the night off eating our homemade peanut butter cups while reading a few pig books! :)
