Banana Bread
Yummy! Who doesn't like Banana Bread! Hayden was adamant about smashing up the bananas. However, when it came time to squish them, as you can tell in the pictures, he seemed very unsure!

Visit to the ENT
Today, we had our first visit with Hayden's new ENT (ear, nose, throat doctor). The good news, is that one tube is still in, the other we aren't sure if it is still in place. Hayden had a lot of wax build-up, which caused the tube to be blocked (if it is still in). We have to put special drops in his ear for the next 10 days to release some of the wax, and we will then return back to the ENT in two weeks.
I was SO proud of Hayden! Lately, due to the reoccuring ear infections, Hayden does NOT like when the doctors poke at his ears... the last doctor visit didn't go well because of this and resulted in many tears and stubborness (that he gets from Jake of course). I was dreading this visit, but Hayden shocked me! He was such a good boy, didn't cry at all, and even said Thank you to the doctor when we were leaving :).
I am keeping my fingers crossed that the March 19th visit has more positive news!!

I'm glad one of us enjoys the snow!
Hayden spent 4 days home from daycare since he was sick :(. He enjoyed himself though... to him, there is nothing better than p.j.'s and snow plows!
He loves watching the snow plows!
Even Fumble Enjoys the Snowplows!
This isn't the best picture, but he looks like SUCH a big boy! :(
Either he is feeling pretty sick in this picture, or he is annoyed that I am taking pictures of him when he doesn't feel well!

Oh Kleenex, Where are you Kleenex?
Our poor little guy has been home sick :(. This has been one of two times I have seen him this sick, which is horrible to see. He has had a fever, congestion, and a horrible cough! The past few days I have forgotten what it feels like to be woken up every hour to a crying child. Thankfully though, after four days, his fever has finally broke!
On the plus side, Hayden has finally learned to blow his nose. I know, small skill to us, but huge for him!! :) Now after he does it, he claps for himself! He also has to go to bed with a kleenex... "just in case". Last night he must have lost it, because while he was in bed, all of a sudden we hear on the monitor, "Oh Kleenex, Where are you, Kleenex?"

Craft Cart
We CAN'T wait for Spring weather to get here! In the mean time though, we are stocked on craft supplies! :) Instead of keeping all of the supplies thrown in one large bin, I decided to splurge and organize all of them. I also spent some time at the teacher store finding some new goodies to go into Hayden's Craft Cart, such as; window markers(still a little unsure of these), dot markers (similar to bingo blotters), and some neat paint brushes for beginning painters. Hayden REALLY liked the dot markers that we used after he investigated his new cart!

ABC, 123
Hayden's world of letters, numbers, and words is starting to explode! He is beginning to learn how to spell his name. He has the H down great! Everytime he sees it in signs or labels, he will always point out that his name begins with that letter. He is able to say the ABC's perfectly and identify the majority of the letters! His counting is cruising along nicely as well! He has 1-10 down pat, when we get into the 10's and 20's he still tends to skip around a little though! :)

Birthday Shopping
Hayden's birthday is a month away! He is so excited, and wants to go to the waterpark for his birthday. Since his birthday falls over my Spring Break, we are going to plan a little trip! :) His favorite part of his upcoming birthday so far, is viewing the Toys R Us ad!
Dinner Talk
Lately, our dinner conversations are so interesting. I love when Hayden says, "So, how was your day?" His sentences are becoming very descriptive! He is also becoming so observant of his surroundings. One example of that is, he pointed to his applesauce (yellow) and his spoon (orange) and said, "Guess what, Mommy! These are my favorite colors; yellow and orange!" So adorable!

Today we had a nice family day celebrating Valentine's! We enjoyed heart- shaped food, a Valentine's Day Treasure Hunt, and fun playing with all of Hayden's v-day goodies!

Gymnastics
Hayden has started a Gymnastics class on Saturday morning. He seems to really be enjoying himself. He likes to do somersaults and play on the trapeze. After he "swings", he lets himself go and falls into a pit of foam blocks.

Lite-Brite, Lite-Brite, Turn on the magical shining light
Hayden received a Mini-Lite Brite in his stocking, so we thought we would finally open it up! Hayden really enjoyed creating a dumptruck! He did a great job putting the pegs in, and wanted to go to sleep with that as his night light!

Flat Cookies and Spaghetti-o's
Today, we baked chocolate chip cookies and followed the recipe EXACTLY! Poor Hayden was so excited for them be taken out of the oven, but was let down to find them to be flat as a pancake and way too crispy to eat :(. Later that night he said, "I'm sorry the dookies were flat, but it's ok Mommy!" :)
That adorable apology made up for the complete disaster that occurred during his dinner of Car Spaghetti-O's. I thought the messy meals were long gone after he turned One! Wrong!!! :)

Will You Be My Valentine?
Unfortunately, our little guy has another ear infection :(, so we had a laid back weekend gearing up for Valentine's Day in a week! We made a few Valentine crafts, and set out our Valentine mailbox. Every once in a while, Hayden finds the flag up and a little note or surprise inside! It is adorable how excited he gets to see the flag on the mailbox up and a heart-shaped note in it. He carries the note around with him for a little while after he finds it!!
The truck is filled with hearts and names of everyone that he loves!!

WOWser!
Today was quite the day with Hayden! I saw a side of him that I haven't seen yet... is it the "terrible two's" that I keep hearing about? I was hoping that since he is almost 3, he might go right past that stage... tonight I think I realized that is not going to happen :)
Although this morning, I saw the adorable side of him that makes me so thankful he is apart of our lives!! He had on his snow hat with the cute little ball on top. As we were driving to Ms. Donna's, he asked if he could wear his sunglasses... it didn't matter to him that the sun wasn't out... completely cloudy. He looked so stinkin' cute with his snow hat and snowglasses on singing "Life is a Highway" from his Cars c.d.
