Olympic Opening Ceremony Celebration

Excited that Hayden is now at the age to get into the Summer Olympics!  He was so excited to stay up late to watch the opening ceremonies!  Before they started we decorated with a few Olympic crafts, had an Olympic-themed dinner, and participated in our own family Olympics with an awards ceremony! :)

    Olympic ring fruit salad, Fish and chips (for England), and torch pretzel stick dinner.

Javalin(straw) throw, discus(paper plate), straw-blowing marshmallow, and Oreo stacking which turned into who could eat the most Oreo's. :)

First Dentist Visit

Today Hayden had his first dentist visit!  It went very well!  Hayden really liked the Space theme they had, which I thought was really neat too!  I wish my dentist's office was like his! :)  He did a great job listening, letting them do their thing, and no cavities, but 6 year molars are coming in already and his first bottom tooth is loose. :(

More Illinois Visitors!!

I was so excited that a few of my friends from Illinois came to visit us for a few days!  We had SOOO much fun!  We had a spa slumber party, toured downtown Charlotte, went zip-lining, white-water rafting, and spent time at the pool enjoying Sangrias! :)  So thankful they came to a visit and shared so many laughs!!

 One of our new favorite restaurants... Mellow Mushroom... I like the pizza, they like the games you can play in the table while we wait for the pizza!

Happy Independence Day!

This Fourth of July we attended our first Waxhaw Independence Day parade.  It was very well done.  They carried the US History theme throughout, and made for some really neat floats!  After the parade, we spend the afternoon in the pool, and then Jake grilled us a yummy dinner!  We then headed to the Waxhaw Fireworks to cap of the holiday!

  After enjoying yummy pizza at Mellow Mushroom, we took Jake bowling and to the arcades to continue the celebration.  Then we headed home to open presents, enjoy birthday cake, and make a birthday wish!

Our first Illinois Visitor...

One of my neighbors, and dear friends, Angie stayed with us a for a few days.  We had so much fun showing her the sights of Charlotte.  We fed a giraffe, learned how to paint, and went up north to Asheville, NC to tour the Biltmore Mansion & Winery.

The South

Today Hayden and I visited a super cute southern plantation store to pick up a few goodies for our first out of town visitor.  My Illinois neighbor, Angie will be staying with us for a few days, so I wanted to give her a Southern Experience.  Hayden loved choosing the peaches... of course he picked all the ones with leaves. :)
