Valentine Candy Buttons

I use to LOVE Candy Buttons when I was little.  I was so excited when I found the recipe to make them with Hayden.  Although... not sure why I liked them so much... actually probably because they are almost all sugar!

Random pictures

One of the rare moments that he takes a nap nowadays, but he looks so cute when I have to wake him up!
Loves to "spell" and work with words.  He is very proud that he can spell Mom and Dad!!

Playing Hide-n-Go-Seek... his favorite place is in the pots/pans cabinet. :)

Who knew a $1 roll of yarn could be so much fun.  Hayden and Fumble were building a Spiderweb

Will you be my Valentine?

Hayden worked pretty hard addressing all of his construction Valentine's for his preschool friends.  He wanted to write ALL of their names by himself, and did a fantastic job with it! The next day after his ice cream preschool party, Hayden was so excited to show me all the Valentine's he received!!

Impressive

There have been a few times today, that Hayden has surprised me, and made me realize that he is growing up. :(  This morning, Hayden was so excited to show me that he picked out his own clothes and got dressed all by himself... his clothes matched, too! :)  His manners are becoming more apparent as well.  He has been saying please and thank you more (unprompted), he also makes a point to always hold the door open for Mommy. :)   Hayden's drawing skills are also improving... as you can see by his adorable train picture!!

Peanut Butter Kind of Day

Today we had a peanut butter kind of day... First we made some bird feeders using peanut butter, pinecones, and birdseed.  We found a cute website about backyard birds, and Hayden REALLY liked listening to the songs that each bird sings.
Daddy was nice enough to trudge through the snow to hang them for us! Hayden was so excited a few hours later, when the birds started using them.
Later in the day, we made some YUMMY peanut butter and jelly valentine cookies!!

Muffin Tin Monday- Snow

There isn't a theme for Muffin Tin Monday today.  Although I am SICK of snow, Hayden doesn't appear to be.  He requested a snowplow to go along with the one he saw this morning, as well as the Snow Mighty Machines DVD we rented this weekend from Redbox. :)

It is cold outside... Time for some homemade Puffy Paint & more fun!!

Wishful thinking for Spring!
Due to how cold it is outside, along with all the snow, Hayden's preschool was cancelled, so that equals another day of staying inside. :(  But we found some fun things to do...

Groundhog Day

We started the morning, eating Groundhogs in a Tunnel... aka... sausage and pancakes.  While we enjoyed our breakfast, we watched Punxsutawney Phil and heard that he didn't see his shadow!  Although, I was happy to hear that Spring would be soon, Hayden on the other hand was NOT!  I had to explain to him how many days he would still have left to play in the snow!

After playing in the snow, we made some yummy Groundhog Cookies!

Then we had some fun with Shadows!

Groundhog Day Blizzard 2011

After, a LONG night of wind, and even Thunder, Hayden couldn't wait to go outside and check everything out!  Who knew there would be so much snow!  The drifts were the worst!  We spent about 2 hours shoveling the driveway.  Then after the snowplows came through, Jake was back out for another hour of shoveling by the end of the driveway.

After playing in the snow for a little while, Hayden opted to head back inside and play with his trucks and "snow".
